Do I need new injectors?
My truck has 142K miles. Its been pretty trouble free up to the last few months. A/C Compressor, front hubs, fan clutch, and now maybe injectors.
It starts fine and seems to running ok. It idles fine, but has a offbeat tick or rattle that sounds like its coming from under the valve cover. Its often, but not constant. It seems to be blowing a little more black smoke and now I'm 2nd guessing myself as to maybe its always been that black.
A phone quote for new set of injectors was $3000 installed. Can a bad injector be diagnosed while still in the truck. I'm freaking out because I dont have the money to fix it and I'm in a cast so I cant do any of the work myself.
