Do I have a bad injector?

I am running a Diablosport Predator on my 2006. I have heard that diablosport is hard on injectors anyway. When I start the truck after it has been sitting for a while it puffs just a little bit of white smoke, while it's idling, until the engine warms up. I also hear a tapping sound until the boost comes on. The tapping isn't that loud, my buddy couldn't even hear it, but I can because it didn't do it before. Is still makes the sound with the programmer off just not as loud. Just wondering if I may I have a bad injector or something else. Please help it's driving me crazy.

I don't know about the white smoke... But when I got my '05 it had 208k miles on it. It made a tapping noise too while cruising (no load) that went away as the boost went up.

I adjusted the valves to the cummins specs and found they were all loose. This has quieted down the tapping to almost gone.

The truck only has 33K miles on it and only 10K with the programmer. The sound that I am hearing does sound like valve clatter, I was just hoping it was an injector. How hard is it to adjust the valves and can I do it myself? I have ran some Lucas injector cleaner through it and nothing has changed. Thanks for the help.

They aren't hard to do at all. I did mine several months ago...took about an hour and a half with a couple breaks and never having done it before. do a search for valve adjustment or maybe somone else can help you out with the direct link
