Do Ford Diesels LUG better than our 5.9s?
Even a 12V Cummins would run away and hide from th 95 7.3's. Put a load on them and the Ford couldn't even keep the tail lights in view.
Beating a dead horse here. All the diesels had comparable ratios in rear diffs and transmissions. If they didn't it was the manufacturers fault for not being overly intelligent. In the end it doesn't matter, the V8's have never been able to hold their own in a lug off the line get the load rolling brute power at low rpm's scenario, apples to apples comparison of course.
The amazing thing is there are people that will question or even argue this moot point.

LOLOL!!!!!

I wouldn't own a 6.0 Power Stroke. The 6.0 PS model was only missing the "O" between the P and the S.

6.5 w/4.10 and a 5speed that would lug a 9k load off the line no problem that is with only a straight pipe.
Ya you should drive a good 7.3 sometime. dads has really been a good one. it has 20 more ft/lbs than the 12 valve. not sure about HP our fords sticker says 215, and the dodge with standard was 215, but only 185 with auto? dads frind bought a 96 dodge 1 ton w/ 4;10 about the same time(late 90s) were never able to hook on the same trailers but i think it pulled about the same as dads truck, maybe a little better lugging but its apples to oranges...(auto/higher geared ford-, 410 dodge with std) i know dads ford would blow away from it on the hiway empty. and it got 1/3rd better millage. also dads motor will last as long as any cummins, still going stronag @ 260miles.
If the Powerstroke had the same feature,it would leave at an idle with no throttle also.
I remember test driving a ford 7.3 with the 6 speed stick, I stalled it twice before I made it off the dealer lot. I owned a 2001 Dodge Cummins 5 speed at the time. I don't think I ever stalled the dodge in the 70,000 miles I owned it.
After driving the Ford, it felt so good to get back in my Dodge.
