distance driven/engine hours

I was looking at my fuel economy, thinking something was wrong. I punched up my engine hours (It took a couple of tries)
I have 370 hours and 16785Km (10430Mi) on the clock. my average speed is 45.36Kmh (28.18Mph) My fuel economy (according to the overhead) is somewhere around 13-14Mpg
this is a 305/555 ho motor. what is everyone else getting?

Hmmm.

Mine acts silly from time to time.

Most of the time I am getting about 200 hours to 7000-8000 miles of driving. That means I average about 35mph which is par for the course around these parts of pa. We have a bar, a church or a traffic light at the corner of ever block in every stinking town and even on the 4 lane state highway there is 43 traffic lights in 45 miles.

Every now and then the hour meter will go bezerk and reset itself. But I tend to reset the overhead hourmeter and trip with each oil change and the dash trip on each tank of fuel.

if you turn the key on (do not start) and hold the trip button down, it will give you total engine hours. It took a bit for me to get this to work.
I called the dealer today about it, they suggested I wait until 25,000Km before even talking to them, They want the truck to break in first, I thought fuel economy was supposed to get better, not worse with travel time... I'll start keeping a detailed log, engine houres/distance driven/litres used....

About your "lower fuel mileage", maybe your truck is spending more time idling than you think. Any time an engine is running without making any forward motion will cause a large dip in mileage.

My overhead computer mileage reads slightly low tank to tank when doing mileage comparisons with my calculated numbers.
