Is there such a thing for a 5.9??

 

There is one that mounts where the vacuum pump goes but it won't work on our trucks as it sits right where the left side motor mount lives, the best solution I've seen is a belt driven one that mounts on the left side above the injection pump.

 

Do a search on DTR for 'on board air' or 'kilby'. Kilby makes a kit to mount a york AC compressor above the alternator. The 2 things I don't like about this kit is the $$ and having a 2nd belt to drive the compressor. Otherwise, it appears to be pretty well designed and thought out.

You can install a PTO driven air compressor on your transmission if there is a cover on your transmission.

A PTO opens up all kinks of auxiliary drive possibilities like hydraulic pumps, winches and A/C alternators.

 

Is this compressor required for on the road or stationary service?

 

One of tenants in my shop does truck equipment and the sell VMAC (vehicle mounted air compressors ) nice small units and they push out 100 psi or so
