Diffrental & Transmission Covers
I want to add Diff. covers and Trany. pan to my 06' Megacab 5.9L. I've been looking at the ATS and The Mag-Hytec's covers. Was wanting some Input from people out there in regards to there experience, expertise and preference and why. Both products are similar and both $$$. Thanks for the input

ATS has too much advertising on them. They need to pay me to run that huge logo on my dif cover, you know how many people see my rear end everyday! And no i'm not talking about my butt. I would go Mag-Hytec or PML.

I have the oasis diff cover on my truck, its black powder coated with a polished ram horn. I like it, and its not advertising for anyone but dodge!!
The picture is in my profile. I picked it up for about $180 bucks.

Thanks, the cover added about 1 1/2 quarts to the rear end, if I remember correctly it took 6.5 quarts on my last change. I bought the cover directly from oasis when they first started. The main thing I like is that I repainted the rear end when I put it on, and the cheap auto store black paint has lasted longer than the factory powder coat, if you can even call it that. Plus, it's just a little added pease of mind..
oh, and woodrep, oasis advertises in the back of diesel power magazine, and can be found at www.oasisdifferentialcovers.com

luke, increasing the fluid capacity does help with cooling, but I think the temperature drop can be more attributed to having the aluminum heat sink style diff cover that helps radiate heat away from the cast housing.

I put in the Mag Hytec trans pan a while ago.. Great quality... Just recently installed their rear cover.. Again great quality.. and I really like the magnetic Dip stick to catch any metal that might be flowing around while the truck is rolling...
Love mine...

Mag Hytek covers on both trans and diff. Absolute quality! I believe that you get what you pay for. As stated above they are not the most inexpensive but neither of these items is something you want to have trouble with hauling a large load in the desert during the summer. (I am close buds with Murphy)
IMHO, what is peace of mind worth? I looked at several first, and the Mag Hytek stood out.
50K miles on mine no issues
