Diffrence in S/O and H/O?
Diffrence in S/O and H/O?
Hello lookin to buy a new dodge turbo here. I have a 97 1500 5.9 360.... but im 20 dont do much pullin and that trucks getting up to 200000 miles and just... not worth the money. Anywho. I was wondering whats the major diffrence between the SO and the HO. Im not much of a diesel buff. My bro and I race cars. Hes a lil cause my 4x4 truck kicks the siht out of his Tibby pullin a quarter mile at 13.1 secs. with the mods of course
But so i can work my wonders with gas engines but dont know lick splits on diesel. But like i was saying I dont do much hauling/towing. Its more of a cruiser. back and forth to college and what not. Most it would pull would be a 4 place snowmobile trailer however much that weighs haha but my truck now works fine with it... Would i be wiser to get a SO or a HO. What are the mpg diffrences? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re:Diffrence in S/O and H/O?
There are some slight mechanical differences in the 03 HO vs the SO 03.
One is directionalized oil jet cooling of the pistons in the HO vs SO with the piston cooling nozzles that spray oil at the bottom of the piston assembly.
If you are looking to go fast, I suggest the HO 305hp in Automatic (which you can order currently, should be delivered in the Jan area.) or the 6 speed HO 305.
When upgrading starts I would venture to say that the higher stock fueling will help gains with any aftermarket electronic boxes.
