I have a friend currently on active duty in virginia beach virginia . he has 2005/2006 ram 2500 4x4 5.9 . these are his issues for quite some time the windshield washer has not functioned , the radio works when it wants just little things like that . now the truck will not start engine cranks fuel pump in tank is clicking . for the past 2 day he has been using a jumper wire to start the truck from battery to some junction box on firewall . he has no gear shift position indicatior light and the ses light is on a blink cycle that couldnt get any quicker .
any help on getting this truck up and going or a dealer location/ or other suitable facility for repair would be appreciated .

 

sounds like the ECM is not reading the range selector switch (hence no PRNDL for the gear shift selector).

 

I've currently been having a problem with my 2005 where the radio sometimes take a while to shut off after I remove the key, and my shift position light was not working either. Both problems started at the same time. About a week ago I was turning my truck around and *almost* got stuck in some 4 foot snow drifts, and while working my way out of it my shift indicator light has started functioning again.

The radio still stays on for a random amount of time after shutting the key off, but the light starting to work again leads me to believe that I probably have a ground issue or something underneath the truck.

While my problem may be unrelated, this post now has me worried enough that I may see bigger problems that I guess I need to go check it out.

 

agreed. I should have stated in the first reply to check ALL grounds (battery and all chassis grounds). Faulty ground can cause problems. remove them and get a small wire brush and start cleaning even if they look "ok".

 

yes this has been done . first thing i told him to do . for update he found ecm fues wich is 30 amp blown replaced this fuse and the prnd21 indicator is back . he still has no windshield washer haunted radio and the truck will not crank from ign switch he has t jump the soliniod via some j box on fire wall, I think his fuse or relay center has a problem any suggestions comments or repair facilities in v.beach virginia would be appreciated

 

really need to know if its an 05 or 06 as 06 there were a lot of changes.

 

the truck is 06 model he has tested voltage at soliniod and states hes only getting 10 v when he jumps it via this j box and battery it starts i still think everything runs through this fues center under hood. dodge should have stuck with a relay center this pos is like a mother board with fueses on it am
