i know this is an old thread but, is there a fix for this problem of shuddering while going down hill with the cruise control on? it is a PITA.

Mine has done it since new. I've had the same experience, only with cruise control on, and basically where no load is applied. If I'm going downhill just enough that there's no load either from the engine applying power or the drivetrain applying pressure to the drivetrain from coasting, that's when it does it. Seems like driveline slack. Feels exactly like a stick vehicle when idling in 1st gear.

Same here, never heard of a fix. I just cancel the cruise when it starts and hit the cruise again once the road levels out or starts going back up.
It's annoying for sure.
I just sold a '94 Chevy 6.5 diesel and that cruise would activate and hold speed all the way down to about 25mph (not that you need it there) whereas the Dodge won't lock on until around 45mph IIRC.
SOmetimes it's nice when you're driving through a long low speed zone that is notorious for being a "money maker" for the local PD to just put the cruise on 30-35mph.

My 07 surges slightly goiing downhill empty. Not bad and only does i when the road is smooth. Loaded with 5er no issues - but then I drive with the foot when pulling nearly 8 tons
