Cruise Control Problems 2006 Diesel Auto

I HAVE A 2006 MEGACAB DIESEL. My problem is with my cruise control. I can use it when I first run the truck and it works fine. If I disengage it with the pedal or the controls, it will not work again, sometimes a day or two goes by. The brake pedal is not sticking. The light comes on, but the cruise will not engage. Anything anywhere I can look for? I dont know if these newer trucks are electric or not regarding CC.

No sure what you can do to solve this, other than taking it to the dealer. The cruise in that MY truck is electronically controlled BTW.

CHeck to make sure there is not a leak in the vacume line for the cruse. Also check to see if the pump is working. Not sure on an 06, but on an 04 the pump is behind the battery on the passenger side. Usually runs a few seconds just after the key is turned on. It is the buzzing sound while the clicking is the grid heater. I had to change the pump because it burnt out trying to keep up with the leak in the line running all the time. It use to hold for 1-2 hours then slowly dropped as the leak got worse and finally the pump quit. At first I noticed it only on long drives, made it hard to track down.
