The crank sensor code 336 ghost
The crank sensor code 336 ghost
Howdy folks. So I have been thru the loop with this 336 code. I have changed the sensor twice, batteries new, altenator new, surpentine belt new, Injectors new. I have fixed the wire by the oil filter. All things recommended by the dealer, performance shop, or from this site but still have the same code 336 and the truck will cough and sputter. Had the shop check the injector harness and all was good. Does anyone have abreak down on how to verify that the toner wheel is good or how to check the wires out to the ECM. It has its own 5v return unlike the Cam sensor. Just seeing if anyone else has had problems with the actual wheel and what the specs are to verify that its ok. Can the ECM give fault on this one code? Thanks for your help
Sorry about that.. The truck is stock and I just had new +50 injectors put in but they did nothing to increase the horse power(dyno test). Soo after having five professional shops look at the truck I got under my truck for my self late last night. (I am getting to old to crawl under things anymore) but while I was under there with the truck running I did notice that the tone wheel moving alot so had my little misses give the engine a rev or two and the whole Harmonic balancer got to whobbling as well. So we shut er down and was thinking that maybe the bolt came loose that holds it on. Sooo got my crooked old fingers up there to feel around and I felt two bolts and two holes which I thought was rather strange. So I snuck into the misses face makeup and stole her little mirror and got to looking up there and it looks like there is four bolts that might have held this harmonic balancer on. One of the bolts was all shinny around the edges like someone had a wrench on there to set the valves after the injectors were installed. You think they would have noticed two bolts missing. Sooo I am praying this is at last the problem. Seems so simple $5500 dollars later. It also looked like my front seal was leaking a little. DO I need a puller to get this off or should I leave it for the professionals to do? thanks
