Crank case breather?

I'm not sure if it is a crank case breather beneath the plasic valve cover "cover"

. But when should that be replaced? I don't have an actual scheduled maitenance book and I'm not sure about it.

Why would you replace a breather tube?

It can be cleaned but genos garage says it is part of the valve cover and they dont sell replacements,I call bs I am sure it can be replaced.I think he is talking about the filter

I thought about pulling mine off and seeing if I could just clean it somehow.....

I will check it out just for an excuse to get in the garage and use the grease pit just to stay out of the house! Thinking about adjusting valves too.
