Question Crank case breather?

I'm not sure if it is a crank case breather beneath the plasic valve cover "cover". But when should that be replaced? I don't have an actual scheduled maitenance book and I'm not sure about it.

Why would you replace a breather tube?

I will check it out just for an excuse to get in the garage and use the grease pit just to stay out of the house! Thinking about adjusting valves too.

This is exactly all you have to do, and about every 100k +-, depending on conditions.
