Excellent!!! Any seals on the FCA? Any reason to pull it and check?
really no reason to pull the fca, the pump I used for this write up was a spare pump that I took the fca off of for another pump

I know I'll probably get laughed at for asking this, but I'm going to anyway....
Is there a sealant that will stand up to diesel fuel that could be run along the seam all the way around the outside of the pump to keep it from leaking? You know, like sealing a valve cover.
What would happen? Just wondering....
assuming your looking to do this instead of replacing the seals permatex would probably work for a while but eventually the leaking fuel is going to push out somewhere

assume all measurments are millimeters?
Any idea of TQ specs on the bolts?
yes all measurements a mm
I have not been able to find torque specs for the bolts so I just snug them all real good by jumping around the bolt pattern.finding info on these cp3's is next to impossible

Rich2500,
Thanks for the mini presentation. Very informative! After the replacement you have no leaks? Thats great if you don't! Now only if dodge would smartin up and fix their own problems. That would make life much easier.

C'on why 2 different materials..... Cost, COst,COSt,COST!!!!!!
Everything, every detail is cost crunched to death, even to the extent of loosing customers. So they **** off 1 in every 1000 customers. So what.
The Aluminum & machining of aluminum is alot cheaper & thats what Bosch looks at. What I really don't understand is why they don't use larger o-rings??? ****.

How bad can the leaking cp3 get will it actually run fuel out on the ground or just seep all the time?
Kind of wondered if it's an emergency or just need to get it done some time?

mine just seeped when ever the engine was running....I never had any drops cause it was dropping on to the fan wiring harness and filling up the wire loom instead of dripping

my warrantied pump is leaking all ready(1yearold) if yours is still dry I am going to do this instead....

sorry folks been getting alot a pm's about my pics not working,I was having problems with my photobucket account,so I switched to imageshack for my photo hosting, unfortunately thats why the pics don't work and I deleted them off my hard drive,If enough folks would like I can pull my spare pump apart and take photos again,I'm not on here much anymore because I got rid of my truck and went back to a gasser(f-250 V-10)
just could not justify the diesel anymore.for an update I just got rid of the truck in dec. and up to that point my pump never leaked again. So let me know who would like the pics back and if enough want them I will do it.
