Rich

If it helps, I have the same thing going on with an 05 3500.

I haven't looked into it yet, as it doesn't affect performance. However

On an 07 kenworth, it used to do the same thing at idle. with the ISX engine. No performance issues, so no big deal. Eventually, it progressed to when it was running down the road. Then one day, it coughed, and threw a check engine light.

Pulled the code, and it was power loss to the ecm while key in "run" position.

Well, for the next several trips, I hunted all over the place. Ended up being a loose connection, on one of the main circuit breakers, INSIDE THE BATTERY BOX!!!

That was a bit of a brain bender, and no doubt in my mind, I will find something of the same on this 05 when I get a chance.

Good luck

In your case, it is telling you that drive-through food is CRAP... *coughchokehack* and that you should avoid it at all costs.

Its happened to my '07 2-3 times. A hiccup is a good description. Idles along and then it hiccups and goes right back to idling along.

The only time its done it is when the truck is cold and the grid heaters kick on after starting.

I think the big draw the grid heaters pull has something to do with it.

This usually happens when grid heater cycles. Next time it does it look at your volt meter. If it is drawn down then that is the case. The heater draws a lot of power. Mine will cycle off and on til operating temp is reached even if it is above 40.

Mine does it every once in a while. And it happens with the engine at running temp, so it's not the heater grid. Been doing it since the truck was new so I'll say it's one of those little quirks.
