Converting my Dually
It may just be easier if you find someone who wants to "switch" rear ends with you. Swap out the axle and bed. All you will be out is the few bucks for a matching paintjob.

The axle housings are the same but the axle shafts are longer to accomodate a spacer between the hub face and rotor mounting.
I did a srw to dually conversion on an 04.5 with AAM axle. Here are some pics of each axle.

The front is the same. Simply remove the bolt on spacer.
The bed will have a 23 holes each side (I think it was) which will need to get covered up. I also think they cut the fender for tire clearance as my body shop guy needed to notch the wheel lining a little for the fender right above the tire instead of cutting the fender. I can take a picture to help explain this if you want. Body work is probably the most expensive cost. Look on ebay or other for a complete take-off bed, IMO.
