Does the 2003 have a catalytic converter? And has anyone had trouble with it plugging? I'm working on a truck that has 62,000 miles, and trying to figure out a drop in fuel mileage. I was wondering if that could be a cause.

 

No kitty unless it was a Cali truck. You should be able to see the CAT, if there is one, right under the passenger floor boards.

 

I thought that they all had them starting in 2003. What is the purpose of the third injection event if not to keep the cat warm?

 

The 3rd injection event is on the 04.5 on up trucks. The 03 and 04 trucks did not come with a Cat.
