How much did it cost you guys to have all the updates put on your truck? A dealership here in Colorado just quoted me for 100 dollars to have all the updates done. I thought that they would install them for free.

 

Is your truck still uder warranty?? If under 3yr/36ooo miles yes it should be no charge but you will need to have a specific complaint to have them do it. Like "poor cabin heat and white smoke on start up" would be one that a flash is out there for, if out of the 3/36 warranty my understanding is it is up to the individual dealers as to whether they charge or not. Your 04.5 also has a 7/70 but there they can justify the $100 deductable using that as a basis. If you know any of the mechanics/techs go around to the bay door and ask one if he can\will do the updates and offer him a $20 and see if he will. I got my high idle done that way and he wouldn't even take the $20 but gladly did the update on my 04.5.

Just some thoughts to try and save you some money.

 

Yeah my truck has 58000 miles on it so its not under the 3/36 warranty anymore I will try whenever I get back home, people are more friendly there thanks for the info.
