Compression Test Results

Pulled out my old injectors and waiting for my Flux's 1.8's to get here next week. So while there out I figured I do a compression test on all cylinders. The engine has 252852 miles on it. If you guys don't mind, I would like to hear your opinion on my results, thanks. Cylinder: #1 495 PSI, #2 500 PSI, #3 500 PSI, #4 500 PSI , #5 520 PSI and #6 490 PSI.

That is pretty good. #6 is a little on the low side. I can't remember what the specs are supposed to be off the top of my head. Maybe try a search and see what you can find.

Just for clarity, when doing a compression test, it is always better to do it dry and then oiled. It allows the operator to do some discrimination between ring and valve leakage, if leakage is present. I think these results are pretty much perfect.

The minimum cylinder pressure is 350 psi. Cylinder pressure should be within 20% from cylinder to cylinder.

Your highest reading is 520, 20% is 104. Looks good.

Hey thanks guys. Truck has been sitting for a 1 year and 8 months, so the engine is dry. I did the compression test on each cylinder twice and got the same readings.
