Compression Test Results

Hey Everyone-

2005 5.9L 325 HP engine. Stock truck. 119,000 miles.

I have my injectors out right now and they are being test at Exergy. I thought I would do a compression test on the motor while there were no injectors in. Was just curious on the health of my engine.

After 6 or 7 compression strokes every cylinder had a peak pressure of 480 to 490 psi and then the pressure stopped climbing. Each cylinder jumped to 300 psi after just one compression stroke.

The Cummins manual just says that the minimum compression pressure is 350 psi, so I think my results are pretty good. Any thoughts anyone? Anyone done a compression test on the 04.5 to 07 5.9L? I was unable to find what the specs are for a good running, healthy engine. Just curious what other people are seeing.

Thanks everyone!
