Code Reader

I'm new to the 3rd generation trucks ... I was looking for a code reader and the ability to clear codes .
Will a OBDII work on a 2005 , I did see a lot of post on the DRBIII , is this the opperating systems these run on ?
I did see a scanner that harbor freight had ... it was around 100 bucks .

Thanks

greg

I have the $100 scanner/clearer from Harbor Freight. It has worked flawlessly for me for about 3-4 years now....

For what it's worth... my opinion.... Put the money towards a Smarty Jr. It will read codes, clear codes, adjust tire speed and make your 3dr Gen run like it should. Plus you know and I know that you really want one anyway

I got mine from Autozone, it was about $100. I usually get the air temperature ons in the fall & spring (0514 & 0071) and sometimes clear the code if I have to hit the highway.

Concur with Nascarcamper. Either the Smarty Jr. or the Bully Dog GT. You're almost 33% towards either one and they are a lot more versatile
