My '06 is in the shop for multiple codes but one is for 1740(TCC OD / OD solonoid performance). This is the 3rd time I have taken itin for this specific code. 1st time they didn't have new software to install so they erased CEL. 2nd time they installed new software. They said if that doesn't fix it they will have to tear tranny apart & rewire it. Should I, or could I, ask for new tranny as opposed to them ripping mine apart to rewire it? TIA

 

why would you have to rewire a new truck's tranny? i assume you mean to replace the existing wires inside of the trans for the lockup? not change wiring circuits, paths, etc.

how many times does a vehicle have to be in for the same problem before it is lemoned?

 

Replace the existing wires is correct. They said they have had a problem w/ them being wired wrong. As far as the Lemon Law, I think it is different in every state but I sure wish I new what it was in Texas. By the way, I have had the truck @ the *********** the same number of times I have made a payment. Sucks, huh! Only 8,500 mi.

 

if it was wired wrong, who know what else is wrong in that trans. I would fight for a new one, not one they are going to make into a science experiment.

 

Well, i just called the dealer & they are putting a new torque converter in it along w/ a solenoid pack. I hope this does the trick. Do you really think they would give me a new tranny?

 

the only thing I think they will GIVE you is a hard time. sorry.
