I'm still weighing the good possibility that I have a tank of poor quality diesel as I have been getting around 15.5 to 14.5 in the city and 17 or so at 65mph. Of course I cannot remember if the drop to 10-12.7 started during this current tank full though I don't believe I saw the drop till I'd used about a quarter of a tank.
The local diesel tuner said I'd get no less than 1+ mpg with a triple dog Bullydog programer that he'll give me my money back if not. Says he see's between 2 and the 3mpg better on most dodge appications. He's got a good rep around here for standing behind what he sells and his work. We'll see.

I am getting between 16 and 18mpg around town and have 5500miles on my 05 2500 QC 4X4 CTD w/3:73 rears. I get 19 to 21mpg on the highway. Towing 6500lbs I get 13-14mpg.

I've heard that if you buy diesel from stations that sell very little of it that the diesel can "go bad" from sitting in the tanks for an extended period of time.

I get about 18mpg around town, with 3000 miles on it so far, but I'm shifting rather soon, trying not to go past 1800rpm much.Once every so often I blow the smoke out of it, if I have a tailgater behind me.

My 04 305 555 2wd gets good highway milage.
These things must be warm to get good economy.
If you are doing short city run with a cold engine, your milage will suck.

I average about 19.5 mpg (imperial)...about 17 US....highway/city...winter/summer.

Great in summer/highway....once got 27mpg.(24 US)

Crappy in winter/city.

IMHO, city mileage will always suck...constant start and stop...no OD lockout.

Like I said, these thing are at there best at full operating temp at a reasonable highway speed.
They ain't no VW TDI !
