Chevy Rear End

Reading in one of those diesel mags and noticed that chevys (2500) have a 11.5 aam with locker and we (2500) have a 10.5 rear and was wondering if anybody thought about changing one out. I sure would like to have a locker in the rear. Thats one of the biggest things i miss about mine old truck.

Most also have the factory Limited Slip. Mine works very well. Not as tight as a true locker but close to it.

All the diesels from 04 up have the 11.5 and some have the factory limitedslip. The 03's have mixed 11.5 and 10.5's, the HO's are the ones with the 11.5.
My truck didn't have a limited slip and I installed one because I was tired of waiting for the aftermarket to come out with something. The factory limited slip does work really well in my truck.

I agree with Zuki Dan. My factory LS differential (11.5) doesn't seem to work well either. I've read suggestions about applying the brake while trying to get it to lock. That didn't work either. My factory Michelins are lasting great, but DON'T go off road with 'em!
