I just did both my diffs last weekend and all cover bolts had blue locTite, removable strength, on them from the factory so I used blue again. Used Castrol 75w 90 in both diffs with no additive. I have aam axles so no additive is required.

You do not need the additive on a 3rd gen with AAM Axles. The dealer said that because on the 2nd gen Dodge's you need it in the Dana Axles. They are just confused.

Just use any GL-5 rated Gear lubricant in 75w90 or 75w140 and you will be fine. Personally, I use Mobil 1 75w90 with no problems. I am considering going to the 140 next change since I tow in hot summer heat.

Don't do it, Kerry!

If you used LSD, your truck would turn into a Fartwo...

Coincidence....I replaced the back u-joint and a driveline vibe all but disappeared.....Changed the diff fluid and now I have a drive line vibe at even 10mph....but it seems to clear up once I drive for a while. This 75w140 was like summer chainsaw oil in winter....red, sticky, and hard to pour....oh yeah it has been cold and I have noticed it more as just 10 mile trips today. ks

What's the big deal between 140 & 90? I'm running the 75/90 Redline in the front and rear and would like to know what the difference is?

90 gets pretty runny towing in the heat of summer. 140 gets a little sticky in the cold of winter. 140 is for heavy duty use, 90 is for light use....towing once a month. ks

I see, i'll just stick w/ the 90w then. I don't usualy tow no more then 3 quads every other week and some tractors here and there.

Any body on here running the PML pans? How do you like them.

I have the PML rearend cover on my 04.5 2500. I like it just fine. I had a Mag HY Tech on my 2001 and I would have to say that it is a little better quality, but also cost more. The Mag Hy Tech uses an o-ring for sealing and the PML uses the original gasket.
I am getting ready to service my transmission soon and I am thinking about getting a PML pan for it.
