carrier bearing

How do you know when it's trashed?
Mine looks like its riped 3/4 a round. Is it normal or should it be a solid rubber peice? The rip or slits in the rubber I can see daylight through.

Any help

i think mine has slots in it. i dont know about rips ot tears, but the little slots on mine i can see through. do thay look uniform or illregular?

there are slots at the sides and top, it is connected at the corners.
