Can u modify vent tube?

2005 5.9 getting a little blow by out the vent tube. If I have the windows down when I come to a stop I get a little smell. Can I run a hose from the vent tube and tie it into the exhaust pipe. I know drag racers use something like that on the bottom of the header. Its a metal valve and a hose runs up to the valve cover. thanks for your input.

What the racers do is called a "Scavenger" tube which sucks the air out of the valve cover and they do it for far different reasons than you need. How about just extending the tube further back? I know a few here have done this.

I've read of guys tying into the exhaust and then sucking the oil right out of the engine. I cannot verify that this is true though. I have the same issue with my truck and took some old air compressor hose and slid it up inside the vent tube(nice snug fit) and then routed the hose all the way to the back of the truck. I sliced the hose in every low hanging spot so there would be no oil buildup to restrict the flow. I pull it out of the vent tube and hit it with compressed air every now and then and have never had anything come out the other end..

It hangs straight down towards the ground next to the oil pan.
