Can I Remove the Load Helper Springs?

Yes thats correct. The 265's were E rated and the 285's are D rated. However, if you read the maximum weight on the side of the tires, both the 265E and the 285D are capable of holding the same weight. Therefore you can tow the same amount. I was a little hesitant to get load range D tires at first, but the guy at Discount Tire pointed that out to me lol.

taking out the overloads took out alot of the harshness in the rear of my truck.

Yes, your correct. However the people at Discount Tire assured me that they can carry the same size load. I figure, if they can't and they blow out, then I'll just let Discount cover the replacement bill lol.
