You will probably get yours soon. How about keeping us informed if this thing is going to prevent our renewals. Not surprized you haven't heard of it yet. Seems the CARB (Cal Air Resoureces Board) is running our lives more and more these days. They will tell DMV when they see fit. Takes a while to get the word out when it has to go thru multiple layers of bureaucracy.

No worries.Marco will come to our rescue if that scenario rears its ugly head. Mine's not due until 12-30-2011,so we'll know what's happening.

I got mine out of the mail box today; however my truck was an 03 235hp Cali engine. But now it is not because I have replaced the ECU and pulled off all of the SMOG junk anyway. The Tranny, injectors, intake and exhaust have all been removed, replaced and or modified. I will see about it later but right now I need a Turbo mine is TOAST
More money more money more money more money, that is what these toys are all about..

I had the recall done yesterday at Cerritos Dodge. My truck is 100% stock. Truck still feels the same to me as before. Not sure what this ECM reprogram has done. The only thing I noticed so far it blows a lil less black smoke. Everything else feels the same to me. To soon to tell if MPG's were effected.

Cali k01

Guys,

I had my recall done yesterday, this morning the engine started then just shut down like someone turned the key off. Waited, tried again & it started and kept running, it's never done that before. I noticed they put a sticker in the engine compartment, says "modification #45325733A and either LV or C (can't make it out, bad handwriting), does anybody know what this mod does??

If this reflash is really so the state can get their computor to communicate or whatever why do they need a conformation letter from the dealer that it was done. If that was true they would not need the letter because they could just hook up the computor and know right away. That is BS you guys always get the worst emissions crap. The thing that scares me is I am in nj and they seem to follow what every you guys do out there in cali.

Not anywhere near California (and glad about it) but their history is not new.

I'm surprised that they can back-date like this, and restrict your registration to boot. Where does this go in the future for other locations since a programmable ECM can always be adjusted.

I've got mine. In Cal we will have to get them smog checked and this flash allows other types of diag equip to link up with the truck other than the dealer for the purpose of the smog check. The bad news is that they will be looking for non carb approved equip also and the computer on the truck will rat you out. Mine is still bone stock. In cal, diesel Was the last thing you could mod out. Gone, except for the stuff with a carb sticker.

I just got my registration notice and it requires a smog check, but says nothing about any mandatory re-flash. Did the notice for the re-flash come separate from the registration notice?

well this should be interesting. i have an '05 5.9 and as far as i know there is no smog equipment unless you count the cat and muffler both of which are still on my truck.

sdntive, where do i go on line to check my vin for the flash info?

hope my 20" magnaflow is not an issue. i have about had it with this state and it will only get worse. next the bastards will want to smog my harley. was talk of that some time ago. politicians of both parties can kiss my as-.

Sounds inviting. If you can survive a winter coming out of SoCal,you'll make it.
