Haven't heard anything... I think this is going to turn into a can of worms for the state, especially when it gets challenged in court.
When my son bought his truck from the dealer in Modesto, it already had a program loaded and no way to remove it by the customer, so who pays to put it back to stock?
Those kind of questions should be interesting to see answered.
What did you receive? Some line on your reg notice that said it needed smogged? where do you take it, any smog shop? or specific to diesels, and whats the criteria for testing it... what determines if it passes or fails?
Lots of questions and no answers available yet to the general public.

From what I've heard, it's supposed to be if your VIN ends with an even number, you start in 2010, and if it ends in an odd number, you start in 2011. Mine ends in an even number, though, and nothing was stated in my registration when I received it. I hope nothing gets sent back, telling me I have to have it smogged.

the first 90 days worth of registrations are sent out before the 1st of the year the notices didnt get put into the system till after jan1 so if your reg went out after ajn1 you will have a notice if it went out before you didnt recieve it.

My exact renewal date also. Odd vin# also. A lot of bugs will be worked out by then. I already know of a competent smog guy who also owns a 3rd gen Cummins.
