Buzzing noise

Occasionally in the morning, when I turn the key to run to let the grid heat up, I get a buzzing noise for about 5 seconds. It sounds like it comes from the accelerator peddle area. Any idea what that is?

i get that but it seems to go out when the ready to start light goes out, perhaps something to do with the heater?

I would bet you are hearing the lift pump. If you bump the key to start not long enough to start the engine, the lift pump will start again and run for a longer time.

I get the same buzzing noise......intermittant in that it doesn't happen every morning, and I never here it any other time during the day.

It almost sounds like it is coming through the speaker. ????

I believe it's the heater grids heating up, which would explain why they stop when the wait to start light goes out. The lift pump makes a clicking noise, not a buzz.

I have on occation also heard the sound. It sounds very much like the lift pump but a little louder and just a little more of a growl sound. It happens simultaneously as the lift pump. It runs for just a few seconds. It's happened may 6 times over the last month. I wonder if it could be the vaccum pump? I think it is in that area. If I get a chance I look it up in the service manual.
