Busted brake line. Included pics for help

Hey everyone. Yesterday my brake line busted on the drivers rear behind the fuel tank. It actually busted at the fitting where it connects between the metal hose to the rubber hose. As far as I can tell from a quick inspection, it looks like the metal line is fine and it seems to be leaking bad at the fitting on the metal line side (see pic) where it is terrible rusty. I have not had a chance to dig into it as it just had to happen right before a 36 hour shift at the firehouse. I am dumb when it comes to this so I'm here for some help. How hard will it be to fix? Can anyone tell what I need to get before I go to the parts store? Thanks in advance everyone!

Break out the tape measure to determine how many feet of brake line you will need. Change the line all the way to the front. Since you live where corrosion is a problem then use the coated brake line to avoid it happening again. Napa has good selection. You may have to remove fuel tank since brake line goes behind the tank. Make sure you install new line in same position as old line. After install you will need to bleed the brakes. Replace the brake hose also if corrosion is there. You might want to check all the steel brake lines for corrosion especially the one that runs to the right side to front wheel.

Ouch I was afraid of that. Unfortunately where my truck is I won't have a lot of time to work on it, is it possible to change out that bad area to get me back home and then replace the lines later?

Sure, Just get a short piece and a compression fitting to link it in the original line. It should get you home.
