What doesn't your truck like about using 2stroke? I have been using it for a couple tanks now and mine runs just fine, little quieter and a little smoother....BTW I have cut my mixture down to 8oz/tank. Just trying different mixtures.

I have been curious about mixing 2stroke/PS...How has this been working? Not sure if the PS would breakdown the 2stroke oil or not. I'm not a chemist so I'm sure one will hopefully chime in.

Everybody comes up with an additive that gives better MPGs.
I went through that with Howes. It wasn't the additive as it was my reserved foot control trying to milk it for better mileage.
Something changed in the way my engine runs and it has improved my MPGs. It wasn't an additive, it wasn't my foot control, and it wasn't a breaking in of the engine from a heavy load.
I'm beginning to believe it was the fuel. I'll know for sure when I fill it up next.

I'd agree with that statement! Pulling heavy seems to help seat/loosen these engines up. I'm up to 21.3mpg with mine and I only have 14.5k on it.

I used to get 20mpg around town(country roads) when it was new, now after 30k miles on it, I get about 17-18 same weekly routes. , but it runs the same, maybe it's the newer
fuel. If it wants break in, I'll give it break in, when I get my new fifthwheel (11K), my current one is 7K.

I'm not ready to swear on a stack of bibles that TCW-3 and DK are helping my mileage. But I drive the same... ALWAYS trying to get mileage.

And I've made the Corpus Christi tow enough times now to know that I'm usually sucking fumes when I get back to Shepherd. This last time I was on a trend to have over 100MTE before I got stuck in traffic for nearly an hour, and I had a quartering head wind northbound.

The fact the the overall mileage on the truck is nearing 124K MIGHT have more to do with it.

I hit about 17-19MPG in my 05 with the 6speed. I have my smaller tires on right now and when I put my 285 back on I will get about 20-21MPG. I know it usally work the other way but I have 390 gears

Today I made a trip to Tulsa from OKC and back, around 230 miles. The overhead actually hit 23.7 mpg on the way back. Last time it hit 23 mpg, I hand figured 19.3 mpg actual.
I didn't fill the tank up yet. I am a little over 500 miles on the trip meter and it still shows a third of a tank.
I'll fill up tomorrow and do the calculations of the actual mpg.

I did a little mileage killing today. I towed a Lowboy two axle trailer with a bent axle that splays the front tires out a bit, so I had road drag. I went into near downtown Houston, so stop and go. We put aero dragging coke machine cages on the trailer and dragged it about 20 miles. Went to far south Houston to get another cage which turned out to be two and drug them another 10-12 miles.

Then drug the trailer back up here to Shepherd.

628 on the odo with 45 Mte. Will fill up and calculate in the AM.

SEEMS like it should be worse based on today. But I really do seem to be getting better mileage as the miles get bigger.

The overhead now reads 23.7 mpg.
Actual hand figured MPGs is 18.1 mpg. Not as good as the 19.3 mpg I had on the last fill up.
The 18.1 mpg was a mixture of 3/4 highway miles, 1/4 town miles.
The jump in economy may be a combination of several factors. One, I broke 15K on the truck, two, the fuel may be better, three - who knows for sure?
I haven't varied from my mixture of MMO/PS, 10 to 12 oz in each tank.
Still, that is not bad for a farm truck!

Same pump, same time of day, stuffed to liquid up the pipe.

18.406 mpg for this go around.

Just a follow up on this thread. I've started buying fuel from a truck stop instead of the local rural fuel station/convenience store/restaurant.
I'm getting an average of 18.5 mpg on the last three tanks with a mixture of rural, town, and highway miles.
Not too shabby.

I got horrible mileage with my 06 for the first 10k then at about 18-19k it finally broke loose and i get 18-22mpg constantly. I know have 41k on it and got 20.5 mpg with cruise set at 70-75mph. What i like to see with diesel at 3.65/gallon here :S
