I pulled my engine and had it bored .20 over and had it rebuilt. The problem was broken rings on 3 cylinders. That was at 194,xxx miles. Now I have 199,500 on it since reinstall. I am still consuming oil. Should I be concerned, or is this normal for break-in? I add about 2 qts every 1800-2000 miles.

 

My last oil change I actually went 14k (Usually I go 8-9K) and they told me I was 1/2 qt low, I have 127K on her. I can't imagine a new rebuilt would consume what you're seeing.

 

That is what I'm thinking, too. I have searched (here & other forums) and not found anything definite on break in mileage or time. So, that is why I asked. Maybe someone here knew.
