Blown Starter fuse

Went to start my truck and nothing happened.., all the usual lites came on and the fuel pump ran.

Checked the fuse box and noticed the 30 amp fuse was blown, I swapped it out with wiper fuse which is also 30 amp.

Tried again and it blew again, had a guy pull start me (another dodge) to get it home.

I couldn't shut if off for fear of not starting it again, so I dropped it off at the local dodge dealer.

Could it be just the starter relay??

Truck only has 110000 km all highway use, minimal starts.

Is the starter covered under 115000 km power train warranty???

Any experiences or ideas much appreciated.

Thanks!

Check the yellow wire down near the starter. There's a metal bracket it can wear against and ground out on causing issues like you describe.

It was a white wire to the solenoid that grounded out on a metal bracket. thanks for the info,...probably saved me a lot of money. Much appreciated!!!
