Are you sure you guys have metal intercoolers? Mine looks aluminum to me.

Only early 05's have the plastics.
Dodge tried to cheap out in 2005, it backfired, they went back to alum.

No no, what I am saying is, everyone kept refering to their intercooler's as being metal. Mine is aluminum. I did not know they made metal one's. I know they made aluminum and plastic, but not metal.

I have 65k on my truck with the stock plastic intercooler. Holding up to 38 psi daily too.

It will definitely let go. It will do it at the worst possible place usually. Mine did it pulling my 12.5k toy hauler coming up out of Tilamook Oregon coming back from the dunes. Strands you uphill, no cell phone coverage, and a long walk back!

Mine came apart at 38psi. I was watching the gauge when I heard it blow.

33k on my plastic fantastic, 2/3rds of that lite towing (6k).

Why does the loss of boost strand you? I figured to limp home, light throttle low gears.
