Lol, it is suspenseful isn't it. I'm at work 50 miles from the truck. I'll take the lid off tonight and snap some that way.

Well... your truck is the first I have seen that didn't have the heating element installed leaving the dealer lot.

That is in fact where the element should be.

What I was seeing must have been the heat shield on the manifold. I've never ever looked at one for the heater from the bottom. I step up on the passenger front tire, then lean over and look down the side of the block and it's always there. And you said your the first and original owner and you bought it new like this?

The dealer has only done oil changes. No other work has been preformed. Like I said it's only got 40000 miles in it

Can you approach the dealer with this? It's an engine part that should be there and it's not. Seems the dealer should provide you with the element and you provide the cord.
