Block heater install

I am told that my truck already has a block heater in it and all I need is a cord. Where is it located on third gen cummins engines. I'm ordering a cord from genos and need to know where to plug it in at on the block.

The block heater is right by the oil filter. Pretty easy to do.

my 03 is in the same place, near oil filter housing by turbo. It came with a cord ready to plug in and my friend has a 07 without a cord. We just took it out and made up a cord to attach to his. nothin special.

remove your intake tube that goes from your airfilter to your turbo...you'll be able to get to it easier. It being your block and where you plug the cord into the block. use the search feature, I'm sure someone has posted photos.

the cord comes with three 'plugs' on it...these go into the frame at specific points to help route the cord the correct way and to then hold it in place...

It's quite easy considering the plugs on the cord go into pre-drilled holes on the frame...that way you know you're routing it correctly.

Yep, your truck already has the heater plug in the block, you just need the cord.
I bought mine from Genos when I ordered some oil filters/fuel filters...

Also too, its REALLY easy to install while youre doing a oil change and have the filter off, otherwise its a little tight to get your hands in there, or it was for me anyway...
