Block Heater
Block Heater
When I plug in the block heater does it get to certain temp. then shut off. Or does it keep heating and keep getting hotter till you unplug it. Anyone know how they work for sure?
I would think it would keep heating until unplugged. It will only heat but so much. How much it will heat, would be determined on how cold it was outside.
Just opinion, not factual. I could be completely wrong but that's my take on it.

It doesn't have a thermostat on it. It is like one of those old water heaters that you drop in your cup of water to make coffee or hot chocolate. It will just heat up to a certian temperature and stay there until you unplug it. They are not very sophisticated.
