From past experience, the key to UOAs for diagnosis is to reduce as many input variables as possible, so that only the issues stand out. There is normalization that needs to occur when different lubricant chemistry packages are introduced (from brand to brand). If you haven't yet done so, consider choosing just one oil product and stick with it through several OCIs.

You my want to consider using a filter such as the Donaldson Endurance Synteq (Part# ELF 7349). This is a synthetic media filter which is 98.7 percent efficient when faced with 15 micron contaminants, and 50 percent efficient when faced with seven micron contaminants. See if things settle down and then try the Castrol.
I was thinking about changing the brand/type before this sample came out. Like I said, I have enough for one more rosmella oil change, and then it's a different oil. That filter sounds like some good info, thank you. I will check that out, I had not heard of that filter before.

I drove it 2k and then took a 9K trip when we moved from AK to CA. When I finally got the sample it showed elevated levels on just about all the same elements you did. I was towing a 10K trailer also so I am sure that was it.

I changed the oil and did another sample 5500 miles later and it was back to normal. I just sent in another sample last week and we will see how it looks but I suspect with another 5k it will be fine. Towing a lot of weight will always wear those exact areas more (more torque needed also know as twisting). Good luck, Shawn
Welcome to the DTR, Shawn.

I'm slightly concerned with the last report, but we'll see what this one says before I get upset. I'm not against a little tech training tearing the motor apart to see what's really going on inside. (don't know if the boss will go for it, tho.)

Mark, when did you install your ARP studs? Reason I ask is my numbers went crazy for the next few blackstone reports and the conclusion was it was the ARP lube that was the culprit. I searched the ingredients of the lube and it contained copper, iron, lead, etc. Since a few oil changes went by my numbers are back to normal. I really slathered that stuff on when I installed the studs.

So was this sample taken after the "dyno event" ? I bet that might have something to do with it.........

I would not condem anything on one oil sample, the numbers are not that far out of wack to do anything at this point. Run it as you always would and see what the next couple sample say. The properties of the oil tell me it is holding up well.

That is a troubling report. If it were me, I would switch to Delo 400 and not even look at the first change which I would do for 5000 miles. After that I would dump it and another fresh change to Delo. Minus the lucas as well...You'll most likely see your numbers drop...

I'll agree with the statments that you should use the same oil for about 3-4 changes b-4 getting an accurate report

Put on an AMSOIL Bypass and fill it with AMSOIL. You will be able to run up to 1 year or 25k so your operating cost will drop like a rock. I currently don't change my oil at all. I just change the filter of by-pass filter and add make up oil. When the sample diagnostics come back, they look normal. Oh yeah it doesen't hurt that I started using 100% synthetic at 3k miles and now have >115k on it.

Yep just got mine back from Blackstone and it was not so good I guess. Iron, copper, lead were higher then normal they say. But what got me was they say the potasium level was high and could be anti freeze. Well It has never gone down in the almost 4 years of this truck. Not sure what else could cause it?
