black fuel filter

The first Black Filter I had was when I changed from the 5-7 micron to the 2-5 micro Balwin. All the 5-7 micron filter in the past were gray in color as far back as I can remember back to my 2000 3500.
I'm due to renew the fuel filter soon. I'm sure it will be black as well.
