As far as supporting, it just sits in there. It can't go anywhere! I remember it was kinda rubbing on a biggish wire/cable but I just moved it. It probably should have an Outerwear on it but I hadn't gotten around to getting one...and it's been on there two years! It's gettin' pretty dirty...'bout time for another one or a Whistler.

How many miles on it? Two years seems like a long time on an air filter. But if they're good for extended mileage, they could save you $$.

I bought a used BHAF from a member here, but I didn't like the way it sat there with no support. I was going to sell it, but if you have no issues, maybe I'll install it.

42790 is either a napa or wix number equiv of the 2790. I just drilled a hole for the IAT sensor to just barely fit in, and then used two self tappers into the tube, not hard, only tight spot is the battery bracket, trimmed for clearance, not a big deal, work on a cold motor or ya might burn yourself bad

Is the turbo whistle as loud as an afe or other intake with the BHAF. I have one on my 2nd gen and its not as loud as the 3rd gen with an afe.

Mine isn't very loud, and I've taken out my silencer ring. It only really sings when boost goes up under load. Though I've been thinking about a 6-inch system for more whistle, I think it might become annoying towing so I just ordered a new BHAF from my local parts guy.
