BFG 315 to 285
Update after Juice
I ran 100 mile round trip today with no load, Stage 1 on Juice for Mileage, and gained 1.2 driving 75-80mph with 410 gears, lowered back and mantained MPH about 70-75 and overall gained 2 mph today, short trip and gained, Ill be running a long trip this weekend and cant wait to see more mpg, right now I am at 14.5 mpg. No load today, pulling 6500lb this weekend well see and Ill let you know, also with the 2" level and my tires the truck about sets even with my 94 dodge 1500, with a 4" suspension lift, and I can still use the truck for all my purpose. Dont get me wrong I love a lifted truck, I have my set up the way I like it. later

Nitto Dura Grappler 285/70-17s on steel wheels. I'm switching rims to some forged alloys but I'm keeping the tires. I almost tried the Toyo 285/75s but I didn't want to pay the extra $$$ for them. These things were expensive enough. They are really nice tires and they are E-Rated. More pics in my gallery....

I am going to go from my 35" Toyo down to a 33" toyo.. It will still look good and I know Ill have more power and fuel. Diesel here is $4.30!! Ill tell them girls to cough up some money for gas and it will be big again!!
I think it depends on what type of driving you do. Alot of highway miles stick with the 315's, city drop down. Almost all my driving is over 55mph and I gained a couple of mpg with the 315's cruising rpms are down 200-300 rpm.

If the 315's are taller, that should lower your RPM going down the road and increase your mileage,,, Problem is with taller tires your odometer will read that you went less miles than with the shorter tires, so it might calculate that your mileage is lower.
The only way to really calculate it would be with a GPS based mileage system, or to have your speedometer calibrated before and after the tire swap. I want to go to a taller tire to help lower the RPM on the road. I tow a Race Car Hauler that weighs about 8500lbs and at 72MPH (Speedometer, who knows what it really is) I am turning 1950RPM. If I could knock that down 100-200 RPM, I think I could get an actual increase regardless of what the odometer says.
