Beyond capabilities of stock turbo?

I am a little confused on the limits of my stock turbo. When pulling, I seem to do alright with my current mods pulling my trailer (40' 5th wheel, 12,000lbs) the boost never goes above 30psi (it'll hit 40 with the BF and getting on it empty) and the EGT's always stay in check when pulling hills. However, according to everything I am reading I should be well beyond the capabilities of the stock turbo. My concern is that the Smarty Jr. is acting as a band-aid and keeping my EGT's in check but that the stock turbo is running on the edge of blowing up with actual drive pressures and such. What dangers am I looking at keeping the stock turbo vs. what benefits will I see with an aftermarket one?

No worries until you get above 38psi. The Jr and the small injectors aren't hurting you that much. Both will actually help your fuel mileage. The stock turbo will take some abuse, that's for sure.
