Best way to bleed power steering and hydro boost?
Best way to bleed power steering and hydro boost?
So I put a new gear box, updated steering, steering dampener and one of the hoses to the hydro boost in my 2007 CTD and am having a heck of a time getting the thing bled. I've tried the turning the steering wheel deal with no luck. Any tips or tricks?
Jack it up and put the front end up on Jack stands.
Fill res.
Steer lock to lock re-fill, steer lock to lock.
Do this maybe even dozens of times till the fluid stays the same level.
THEN start the motor while someone is there ready to fill the res. again.
Steer lock to lock as they keep and eye on the fluid and re-fill as needed.

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

Like he said. ^^^^^^^ Remember reading somewhere (the Dodge manual?) that it is necessary to do this 40 times.
