Best transmission, or rebuild parts
So I've recently found out that the previous owner of my truck probably never had the transmission serviced or looked at
. Well I started having issues with my truck not wanting to shift from 1st-2nd. Took it into a transmission shop and found out that the band was so far out of adjustment that the band was pretty much shot, and it took 6 turns to try an bring it in so that it'll shift. Well they were able to bring it in enough to get it to shift but can't say how long it'll last an because of the high mileage (226,000) they're recommending a rebuild.
What I am wanting is some input on the best either new transmission or innards for med/heavy towing (probably no more than 20k towing weight). I have a 2007 Dodge 2500 5.9 4X4
