Best Dollar spent?

Been doing some searching and was really looking at Edges A2. I like how id have a power box all the guages gps and backup camera in one lil thing. but then i found the TST box which has HUGE power levels. Now i know that i need to up grade a lot more than just a box to use the tst but for over all performace which would be the best?

So, it's stock and will stay that way... NOT!! Muffler, for sure. Turbo next. That should be plenty to give you auto or clutch problems ! Craig

Youre better than I am I got my truck Feb 02 07 I have already adde a stage 2 AFE intake programmed it and am currently looking for the best boost fooler. In response to your question if raw HP is your goal you can do more with a TST box than anything else including setting safe parameters for operation you will get more bang for your buck using the TST. The TST also has features and settings like changing the wastegate settings so you wont have to buy the extra equipment I'm currently looking for.TST were the first and theyre still the leaders. I wish Iwould have bought one.

It seems to me that building a "balanced" system is important. Regarding increased power, if you do one thing, it will cause you to do other things to compensate for what the first thing did. In other words, if you increase the power, dramatically, you will be looking for turbos, heavy-duty transmissions, better fuel pumps, etc.

Try to develope a plan. If you don't want to spend "big dollars" on an upgraded transmission, then, you know investing in a high powered "chip" will not be a good investment. I'd talk to a lot of "experts" in the field & get some good ideas that will fit your finances. Try not to make any "big" mistakes.

You're doing the right thing by asking questions, here. Good Luck, in your search.

I had an 05 which is the same as your 04.5. I ran an edge juice first, then bought a tst. the tst seemed to run alot better. an 04.5 is a real good trk to mod in my opinion. the tst is about the most aggresive box you can buy. other guys will argue but it will produce power. if you dont want to upgrade your driveline, run it on lower levels. I have a smarty on my 06 and im pleased with it. I have a tst to install also. If you have the intercooler that has the plastic end caps on your trk, upgrade that before you mod it. I bought an 03 factory metal intercooler for my 05 and it was an easy switch for reasonable money. much cheaper than the kits at $1300
