Back again with a couple new questions
Back again with a couple new questions
Ok... I'm obviously working on my merit badge for some of the strangest noob questions ever asked.
I was putzing down the interstate earlier, cruising at about 70. Some pudknocker was riding the bumper the whole way through traffic. Being generous and not wanting to have his "oh ****" face plastered on my tailgate if I had to stop due to a sudden change in traffic, I decided to tap the peddle to get up and around what was in front of me. I was surprised to see the knuckle baby
jerking over to the side to quickly get out from behind me . Taking a second glance I noticed a rather large plume of what I thought was white smoke. Will that happen everytime I have to hit the peddle for any sudden power? I was going from 70 to 80 when it happened.
The next two questions aren't as funny as seeing that car almost hit another car to avoid the plume.
From time to time when I get out of the truck, the headlights turned off, I lock the doors only to find out that the headlights are still lit. Has anyone else had that problem?
Last probably so simple even a caveman can do it question. I just added nerf bars to the truck. The instructions and kit came with rubber washers to go between the frame brackets and the frame. Needless to say everytime I hit a decent bump those dang brackets rattle and sound as if the truck's falling apart. Did anyone else put bars on that required the rubber washer? Did you keep em? Toss em? Lend a noob a lil insight.
Thanks in advance everyone.

Welp from one n00b to another....here goes:
The lights staying on thing is a feature that these trucks have that give you a little light to help you get in the house or whatever after you leave the truck. This is normal. If you don't want this to happen you can just turn off the lights before you turn off the ignition. (Or maybe even ask your dealer to turn it off??)
As far as the white smoke, I usually get a puff of black smoke (bone stock here) when I punch it like you did. So how 'white' was the smoke. It could have been a little black smoke that seemed lighter because it was going 70/80 mph. Other than that maybe someone else can jump in on this one.
I installed my nerf bars also, but luckily my kit didn't use rubber washers. The washers were probably there to provide some dampening to allow parts to move a little without making too much noise, but I would check all the bolts with a torque wrench and make sure they are up to specs per the instructions.
Hope this helps. I'm sure someone else will jump in to fill in the gaps. There are a lot of little quirks that are unique to these trucks.
