Battery Selection Help
Looks like my driver side batt has had enough. Pass still reads 12.5. But wouldn't start this morning. It tried to turn it for a sec then the gauges just started wigging out. Hooked it up to my Jeep and it atleast got the gauges to act normal and the volt gauge to read. However would just click the starter. Didn't help the grid heater was running either I'm sure, though i waited till it quit to try.
Looking to just get one quick and probably a group 34 to replace the bad and then in a few weeks get two new ones, 65's, and take that one new and put in my Jeep which prob needs one as well.
I can get the yellow top for 140 from Advance with one of the coupon codes online or thought about trying to find a duralast platinum i've been reading about, which I think is similar priced. I have been reading about how Optima quality has dropped pretty hard so was wondering if pricing was the same what would be ya'lls opinion.
Also considering a die hard gold possibly. Hoping to replace both truck batts with die hard platinum P-2s. Just need to save a bit for those.

I put in the diehard platinums about 18mo ago. Excellent batteries. I picked them up on sale, they we're just about 2 for the price of one.
i just bought autozone yellow top batteries for my 05 dodge 2500.
they had more cca then the orginial batteries. OE batteries were still starting truck ok, but did not want to press my luck this winter.
I think they were $130 something each.
I like their batteries and if you have trouble in the evening or weekends you can always find a autozone open.
have used their batteries for years and they have held up well.
However, I do not know who builds batteries for autozone.

Most battery manufacturers in this country are owned by Johnson Controls of HVAC fame. This includes Diehards, Autozone, Interstate, and Advance Auto. I went with the Autozone Yellow tops because of the price and warranty. Have not had any problems so far. Stronger battery than the truck requires.
I just replaced the batteries in my 05. I priced interstate @ $140 per battery. 850 cca, a 3 year replacement. Napa gold @ $112 (my account cost). Same warranty and specks as above. Walmart Everstart @84 per battery. Same warranty and specks as above. I went with the Walmart battery. I have had good luck with them in the past. They are made by Johnson Controls, same as the Interstate. The Napa battery is made by Exide. Exide batteries usually leak around the posts, causing corroded terminals.

My factory batts were 8 yrs old and getting.....really.....s..l...o...w!! Replaced them with DieHard Platinums and wow, I don't remember my truck turning over that fast when it was new. They were quite costly but they came with a total of 9 yrs on the warranty....if they last me another 6 I won't complain one bit. So far they were well worth the money.
I just Bought the new Auto Zone Duralast platinum AGM Batteries. They are about $50 cheaper the the die Hard Platinum Batteries.
I would stay away from optima batteries, They arn't what they used to be...

Thanks guys.
Ended up getting a single Optima yellow top on the way home as it was $149 out the door. D34/78. Its def. as heavy if not more than the factory which makes me feel a bit better about the quality. Guess I'll see though. I just got a single to make sure that was the issue. Started right up. So now just need to decide what two to go with so I can swap the Jeeps out with the Optima. Def. better than the one it has now.
I was going to look at AZ for those platinums but forgot yesterday. Or maybe wait till those die hards go on sale. The proration of the warranty is def. nice.
Fortunately it doesn't get terribly cold here and I plug it in below 40 usually.
