bad MAP sensor?

i have been having some problems with weird codes in my truck, the common denominator seems to be a map sensor voltage too low,or map sensor voltage too high.i noticed today that when at idle if you even breathe heavy on the accelerator that the boost reading on the attitude box goes from 0 to 8-9 psi and at no point stops anywhere inbetween those 2 numbers.that was before the codes were thrown after the codes are thrown it seems to be slow reacting and almost innacurate boost readings....however it will read 1 or 2 psi, anyone ever seen this before?are MAP sensors a common failure point?

Also drive around with the performance box disconnected from the MAP sensor to see if the issue still occurs.
