bad fuel-cancell warranty?
bad fuel-cancell warranty?
I was told that because I had some how gotting water and bad fuel into my injectors, past the filter that my warranty is no longer any good. Has anyone else heard or had this happen? Thanks
p.s. also this caused a injector to go bad.

I have read about this happening before. I can understand Dodge not wanting to cover this repair since it's not their fault it happened but I don't understand about voiding the whole warranty. Once you get it fixed they should still give you your warranty.... I think..
If DC says that you don't have a warranty then go after the filling station. I always keep a log of every fillup and where it was. Either way unless you have tanks in your yard I don't think you should be responsible for a product that you can't inspect before you load it.
What is funny is that if you have water or what not in your tank, then the FUEL WATER SEPERATOR should have seperated them from each other. Phone Fleetguard or your filter manufacture about this and ask them for the specs on their product.
Then ask DC why they would void a warrenty for a part that is suppose to work.

I would say it is DC's fault for not installing a primary water seperating filter. Every diesel book I've ever read says that you absolutly need a primary filter before the fuel transfere pump. If you don't the water gets beat up into super tiney droplets by the transfere pump, and the secondary fuel filter can't get alot of those smaller droplets out, thus end up damaging the injectors and injection pump.
The problem is from an inadequate fuel filtering system. You'll have to do some research, but, you'll find it.
I bought a 90gph primary Racor filter and housing. Gotta get off my rear and get it installed. It has a clear bowl to see when to drain off the water out of the bowl. My other Primary Racor on my 1st gen gets drained off about once every two weeks.
